Buy now or wait for the V8

Ford is fully committed to their EcoBoost engines and honestly would likely completely get rid of the V8 if it weren't a must have criteria for certain truck buyers. Although the number of those truck buyers seems to be diminishing over time. If I recall correctly, Ford recently cut down production of the 5.0 V8 by a third because demand just isn't there anymore.
We likely won't ever see another V8 Raptor. If anything, I think the next Raptor might have the 3.0L EcoBoost eHybrid from the Aviator. I wouldn't be surprised if the next generation starting in 2021 will be the last generation that Ford will offer a V8 in an F-150.

Car & Driver reported that the 5.2L GT500 motor will be in the Raptor 2020-2021 to phase out Gen 2. They said it will be offered, but not a replacement for the 3.5L. Base price will likely jump to 70K.
I get that it's rumored, but what's not is the fact that RAM will have their V8 TRX using the Hellcat Hemi and Ford will need to answer that with a V8. The 5.2L makes sense.
