Default Gotts Mod UPDATE

I did the Gotts mod yesterday. I also moded the intake tube and cut off all the extra crap and capped the holes....so far, it seems to have a little bit more pep but my idling is messed up now. Idles very low when I hit the brakes and feels like it wants to stahl. It was a little bit better today. I had the batt disconnected for about 2 hours. Hopefully in the next 2 days it will get better.

what do you mean you cut off all the extra stuff? Post a picture I fear you did something you shouldn't have and you are drawing air in somewhere after the MAF.

ill post a pic tomorrow, I can't do it from my phone.

I trimmed the 3 extra wide parts of the tube off so that is just the main trunk of the intake tube left. They sell intake tubes on partsgeek.com. I just fabbed my own from their picture. Maybe it was a bad idea. It died on me about 5 times today coming home from work.

Generally speaking, it's not advised to trim excess... anything... off your truck if you don't know what it is. I would check the junkyards for a factory intake and try the Gotts mod again. Good luck.

He cut off the resonators, There is nothing wrong with doing so, it improves air flow..

The only thing the resonators are there for is to make the stock intake quiter...

Why are the called resonators if they make something quieter?

Not a good sign TJ, It's been posted over and over that the 2004s and 2005s came from the factory in a near lean condition. Troyer and Bill at PHP have also proven this on their dynos. I would start looking for a replacement intake soon, Or a replacement engine later.
