This may sound like a stupid question, but did you remember to reset the MAF by disconnecting the battery and then re-connecting it?

Even if he didn't that wouldn't kill the engine, just make it run like crap.

His problem is prolly just the computer relearning the fuel trims... DRive it a couple hundred miles.. Be sure your fuel leve is over 3/4 a tank of gas.. If the weather is cooler it will take longer.. if its warmer it will take much less time... After you leave the battery d/c that long .. It has to relearn some things... Drive the truck normal... Not hot rodding... Not grandpa'ish

Yep. I had the batt disconnected for about 2 hours. I haven't driven the truck real far yet either. Just to work and back. That's only a 20 min ride one way. Maybe it just needs more miles put on it???

Yes.. let it idle for 3 mins in park... 3 mins in drive... 3 mins with ac on in gear(brake on) 3 mins back in park... then just drive it.. get some miles.. it will relearn..

I think I'm going to order the tuner (SCT X3) this weekend. That should solve any problems, yes?

OK....I did the Gotts Mod, my truck ran like crap and constantly stalled in traffic. I got the tuner (SCT SF3) which is BETTER than the X3 according to JR (tech support) @ SCT. I used their canned tune but my truck is no better off than it was before I fd around with it. Wth is going on? Why is nothing working on my truck? Any comments, advice or other would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm frustrated and feel like I just wasted $381. Please help......

The only thing that would make the SF3 "better" would be it comes with canned tunes. Canned tunes aren't that great to start and if you're not stock, why would you need canned tunes, custom tunes are better even on a stock truck. The SF3 and X3 run the same internal platform, just the SF3 has canned and can have custom while the X3 is only custom. Just clearing up JR's definition of better.

I'd check for leaks in the intake and vacuum system. May have knocked something loose and didn't know it, causing problems. Clean the MAF too as some crud may have gotten on it while the intake was off, or if you run an oiled filter. The Gotts itself doesn't cause any problems.
