Yep, -10 on the truck yesterday at 4am. I'm expecting the same today.

I have to say, I'm not impressed with Goodyear Wrangler ats tires. They were brand new when I bought the truck 5k ago. On my old SCAB, I put BFG AT KOs and didn't use 4wd unless I wanted to.

Another thing, is these noisey *** power steering pumps. All of the 4.6 - 5.4 autos I've had have screamers. This one's the worst of them all.

Well, it's chilly here today at 16'F but sunny.

I put on a set of Dunlop Fierce Attitudes and so far they are pretty good. A friend of mine put on some Good Year Duratracs and he saw my tires and wish he got them instead for some reason.

Well it's -22 degrees this morning here in NW ND.
Not enough deep snow to play in yet.
Guess I'll leave the 03 F150 FX4 rest quietly and drive the Subaru Legacy AWD.

It's 5 here. I was out checking on the chickens and cows in shorts and flipflops. My neighbor thinks I'm nuts but as I have told him, I'm well insulated :-P The cold usually doesn't bother me when I'm out in it for short periods as long as there is no wind.

I never put in any extra weight. I switch over to 4x4 if needed and don't spin the wheels if in snow. If a little stuck, I just rock it back and forth a little and it always comes right out.

X2 on noisy ps pump. Mine whines any time its below freezing. 32-0 degrees and it whines for 5-10 sec. 0 to -20 it will whine for up to 45 sec. Kinda weird if your not expecting it.

I'm just east of the cities but have a cabin up in Finlayson just north of Hinckley. Gotta say, I love the Goodyear Duratrac's I have on my truck.

Here in Canada my lady was watching the news the other day and all you hear is down on the B.C Coast

"Victoria, with record breaking chills at -7!"

Meanwhile, I'm freezing my *** off in -24 without wind chill up North.

Mine use to that quite a bit. Decided to attempt to do something about that one day. I flushed the PS with Amsoil Trans fluid. Cost me an extra quart or two flushing it out well, but it was worth it IMO. I then reconnected the return line and top it off with the Amsoil. That was back in 08 and it hasn't made a peep (or whine) since.

If you attempt this, you must never let the reservoir go dry or you can F it up. It's not all that forgiving lol. That's the only thing you have to be careful of. It can be by yourself. I had the front end jacked and turned the wheels with my foot a bit to flush it out well. Works!

I'm gonna have to try that. I replaced the pump about a year and half ago. And it helped quite a bit.
