I can see an area in my dash where a light would come on to warn me if my windshield washer fluid is low. Well, I ran out of winshield washer fluid and the light didnt come on so im assuming I dont have that option on my truck. It's an XLT so im assuming Lariats came with the alert. How difficult would it be to add this system? Is the wiring there already? Do i just need to buy a lightbulb and a sensor or would the upgrade be more involved?

Seems like you want to go through a lot of trouble just to tell if it's low.. My alert is when hardly any comes out.. Then I put more in

 

I check the engine oil every week or 2 and once the hood is open might as well check the rest of the fluids

 

Yah I know lol. It's not really that big of a deal. I thought it would come on before hardly any came out so i guess it doesn't really help anyway. I kinda just wanted to see the light come on since I can see the outline behind the dash. I can also see the 4x4 and 4x4 low lights but I know those wont be coming on anytime soon. I have a 2wd lol.

 

Are you sure? I don't recall a low washer light and I have a Lariat.

 

I'm not sure which models came with it that was just a guess on my part. I figured if the XLT didn't have it the Lariat would.

On my gauges if i look in the top left hand corner I can see the outline of a windshield washer level alert. I can only see it when the light hits the dash at certain angles though.

My 03 XLT has the outline for it, even on the old face. I had put more in a long time ago when there was pretty much nothing in there. It would be nice to actually have it operational... Though it would take a good bit of time...
