Default Will this idea look good??

So I can't find any 4 inch suspension lifts for my truck I have a 2000 f150 4x4 5.4l all the suspensions are 5-6 inches and I really don't need to go that high I want a bad a** stout looking truck, so I was thinking about cracking my bars in the front 1 inch and getting the keys to lift it 2 more inches and then getting a 3 inch block for the back end, then after that get a 3 inch body lift kit, for a overall 4-5 inches higher do yall think this would look good? Opinions please!!

When it comes to lifting a truck, especially the torsion bar front ends, you can pay for a quality lift that repositions everything to run within it's designed limits,or half ***** it and have problem after problem.

There's a reason the better lifts are $1,200 and up..

I'm only lifting my bars and getting a body lift, if I was getting a lift kit then yeah I would have to realign everything like the brake wires, I'm trying to keep everything stock but add really good shocks

The body lift is no problem. Tweeking the bars to get 1" or so isn't a problem. It's when you add new keys and crank them up 2-3" that causes the problems.

The axles and suspension just aren't designed to run at those angles. You will lose the droop in the front suspension, and your ride will go to crap.Stay away from the keys.

Do the body lift, tweek the bars an inch or so, and you will have a nice comfortable trouble free ride.

Oh okay yeah I think everybody has their own opinion I'm not saying your wrong, a lot of people say if you go 3 inches and try to go more with the keys that's when your stretching the limits but ill ask around and stuff

No problem man. Not hurting my feelings a bit. It's your truck and money,do with it as you please.
Just giving you my opinion. I have had a truck with the torsion bars cranked up as far as they would go. It was before I knew better, and I would never do it again. I ended up selling the tires and dropping it back down after dealing with the troubles.

Good luck. And post some pictures when you do it.

You can't crank your stock keys one inch and then add aftermarket keys and get 2 more. That's not how it works.

Just crank your stock keys they are the same as aftermarket ones anyway. Besides cranking your t-bars isn't even a lift.

If you want to feel like you're driving around on solid tires go for it. But don't come back in a half a year bitching that your truck is a POS because all your ball joints and shocks keep failing.

Isn't that what the keys are made for? To lift it two inches and make it stronger?
