Default Where to install hypertech performance chip! Urgent!

I'm been trying to figure out where this thing goes for a few hours now and I'm about ticked off. I have a 1997 f150.

This is what I bought http://i2.squidoocdn.com/resize/squi...wer-Module.gif

I bought a hypertech chip from a friend and he said it will work with my truck. He said that I need to disconnect the negative battery cable, locate the computer and snap it in..

I've located the computer which is a metal box on the passenger side underneath the dash. However I do not see anywhere to plug this bad boy in.

I really need to plug this thing in asap because I'm about to go somewhere where I will need this thing. Please for the love of ford, help me out!

The plug is on the bottom of the dash below the steering wheel you really can't miss it .

This is not a tuner, it is a chip. This chip will not fit that plug

Back in the day I had a 99 F150 and used a SUPERCHIP, I had to remove the battery and then you can access the bolts against the firewall holding the CPU in which will give youeasy access to the plug point.

Hope this may help

This did help, althought I found the spot to connect the chip already man. Thanks though!

Now I just need one more thing, there is white paste all over the connectors on the cpu, do I leave this paste on for good connection or something?

If it's anything like the superdutys you have to clean the connections. It has to be bare metal on the contacts

I guess I'm going to do this as I have ran out of time heh.. I'm guessing the paste was to keep dust from getting all over the connectors or from them corroding.

the grease is dielectric grease. Prevents corrosion, water intrusion while insulating the pins. Removing it wouldn't hurt anything immediately, but there's no reason to remove it unless it's dirty or wet. Without the grease, however, it's more possible to allow the corrosion or water to corrupt the connections.
