hey what is the difference between the 98 lariat and the 99-2003 lariat model f150 and i want to make mine look just like an 03 model and ps mine is a 98 f150 lariat 4x4

Why not sell what you have and find an 03?

 

Oh, you just want the looks, - yea I caught your edit. What's different ? The front end, - yea that doable, fairly easy. Bed and tail lights, that's doable as well. Could get pricey, watch for deals.

 

Beds are the same. The difference is the front bumper, valance, and bumper pad. Thats it really on the exterior. There are some interior changes as well.

 

Then why doesn't OEM 03 F150 Flair side tail-lights fit on a 98? No offense, but yes they're different in the rear, as posted.

 

Because you have to have a flairside. The flairside bed was available in 97/98 also. so no there isnt a difference.

The 99-03 also had the fourth door added to the Super Cab model. The '97 had the horrible mirrored type tint on the rear glass. And early '97 had a different header panel which means the headlight bracketry is different.

The side mirrors, on Lariats, are also different. The early models had the signal in the mirror and later models had the on the side.

The taillights are different too, on the flareside. I think the order of the bulbs changed..

Actually no signal mirrors were offered in 97/98. The signal mirrors came out in 99 for the trucks. Even tho they were offered late in 98 on the Expeditions.

 

Front clip is different,gauge cluster is different,door panels and a few other interior things are different and the one thing I hate is only one back door opens on a 97-98.
