Can someone tell me what year bumper this is and if it will fit on a 98 single cab?

99-03 4x4 bumper.
You would have to change grill shroud and every thing.

Not really.... he could leave a gap there and just change the bumper.

Would it bolt up or do I need to make modifications?

In case you haven't found your answer yet -- you'd need '99+ bumper brackets, easily done.

The gap will look like this below. You could always mount a Light Bar behind the bumper so it would show light in that open area.

Why would you wear that? Yea that's a cheap version compared to the 97/98 bumper..very weak and looks it. BUT, - you can make it fit.

You have a nice looking truck there, but yea the front end looks a little funky.

A lot of people convert to newer style bumper/set up which looks okay, probably better off seeing what you can get from the salvage yard as far as as parts if you go that route.

The 97/98 set ups are my favorite, more of a truck look IMO. They real good when done up right. Your bumper is out of adjustment I see. You can close that gap you have. Sort of a PITA to adjust, but it's doable. Personally I'd PTM this way and go with maybe a honeycomb grill for your F250, like this, -

Yeah... I agree with Brewster, to me the 97/98 front ends look more like a truck. They are really great looking when someone doesn't rice them up. I'd already have switched mine over to Lightning lights if I didn't have one of the early 97 header panels.... but I'll get to it.
