I Like Tires
Thanks all for the replies. The tire did get sliced so it's gone, not a Michelin they're Kelly Safari Trax. Definitely gonna make sure I get quality replacement metal as I plan on keeping this truck a long time. It will certainly suck not having it for a while but on the upside I will get 1 new rocker, on the downside my doors were perfect and u don't know what they will want to do with them. I won't settle for a bondo repair so I would assume new skins.

In my opinion I would take it to a Ford Body shop and specify only OEM Motorcraft parts to be used. I will be the first to tell you skins will not be used. They will be pulled.

By pulled do you mean bumped out and bondoed or what ever they are using these days? I called the dealer today and they said they have guide lines they have to follow as a certified shop for my ins. , he also told me the oem ford parts only have a 1 yr warranty where as (and I forget the term he used ) the certified parts and body work they do for the ins has a lifetime warranty. We'll see what they say when I take it in for the estimate this afternoon.

The have specific shaded dollies that will pill 95% of the dents out and then use a 3m lightweight skim coast to give final shape. The urethane based stuff being used to day is alot better than the old polyester filler (Bondo).

Took it to the dealer today he said new rocker new used door from dismantler and if he can't gets perfect one new oem. Repair light damage on back door and cab corner and buff out and repaint bed and fender flare. Also new tire and reconditioned rim. Last but not least replace running board, asked if the price was the same or less could we do karr 20" wide side steps instead , he said no problem. I personally hate the boards but had to leave them for the wife and daughter, so I'd much rather have the karr steps.
