Default VIN Decoder?

Does anyone have a list of vin codes and their equivalent meanings?
Maybe better known as RPO codes for the trucks options?

What if you don't have the door sticker? Mine is missing (or more likely still on the original door, I think it was in a minor accident), so I don't have the axle codes, paint codes, etc..

As for the axle...Check the pumkin there should be a tag, perhaps, held on by one of the bolts.... Mine says 3L55 (3.55 Limited Slip).....

Check this site....Scroll to bottom for location of useful markings...

http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...s_it_posi.html

This site will allow you to scroll thru and see what was available... You may be able to match what you got to find some of the codes...

http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...r_Decoder.html

The truck in your avatar is 'Oxford White' paint code "YZ"......Like Mine.

I don't know if you can call the dealership and have them do a search using your VIN or not....
I used to be able to get complete GM Build Sheets with just the VIN....

Hope this helps....

it took a little over a month for me to get 2 sheets of paper telling me about my truck, and how it was ordered... that was my 87 about 2 years ago so finding the email and all will be hard..

Grr.. So I looked at the diff housing.. Low and behold, there were 2 tags on it. One just tells me what type of gear oil to use.. The other has this written on it:

S 914 8
73 975 8K09

What exactly does that mean? Again, I don't have the door jamb sticker, so I wa looking here to figure out axle size (which I will just assume knowing Ford that it's an 8.8") and gear ratio... Any one got an idea?

Actually I don't think it is a "8.8"... You have the 5.4 Triton... I believe you have a letter obscured... I think the bottom row should read "L73 975 8K09"...
In other words you have a 3.73 Limited-Slip (L73) in the "9.75" (975).......... The missing "L" may not exist, but even so, they only made 3.73LS..

By the way your Axle Code is "B6"....

I also found this for build info...Gonna try it tomorrow...
