well, im looking at upsizing from my 2002 f150 4.6 to an f250 this summer, and the the two contestants are currently a 2004 4wd 5.4gas with 70k miles and a 2008 4wd 6.4desiel with 80k miles. which one will perform better? make better fuel eco? and stuff.

DIESEL has better Fuel Economy, Towing Performance, More LOW RPM Torque. The only problem with a Diesel Engine is the Parts and Tools are so expensive. But 6.4 is too big engine. In other countries Diesel will be best choice because it's a lot cheaper than Gasoline.
6.4 Liter Diesel Engine is used in a 20 Feet Truck with 10 Ton Capacity.

It is on topic, he asked about performance and mileage.
The 5.4L gets ****ty mileage in the F150 and power isn't the best. Stick it in a much heavier F250 and it's more of a dog.
The 6.4L diesel makes great power but in stock form the mpg isn't the greatest, 10-15mpg. But when the mods are done like I listed the power is increased by 200rwhp+ and mileage also goes up ALOT! That's why I posted what I did.

The 5.4L doesn't and wouldn't ever come close to the performance or mpg of the 6.4L. The resale value is also ALOT more than the 5.4L.
