Default uh oh

Some where in the put on in the lift the driver side outer cv boot got a puncture on it. Hole is a sideways cut about 2mm long. Is there a glue i can just put on to seal

Im not sure glue would hold. But you can order one for only like 15 bucks. You will need to get that done asap so rock dust and dirt dont get inside and eventually cause you to have to buy a new axle shaft

X2 just keep grease in there the best you can till you can change it.

ya i had to special order it and it will be here on wednesday. looks like i wont be driving much till i fix it. Hole got bigger today and looks ike all the grease is inside my fender well

Special order it? Most Checkers or Autozones should carry it.... the Checker down the street has them. Nothing fancy..

Duct and zipties can fix it..

i checked both around my house and neither had it and they said they had none at the hub. auto had to order it for me

Did you just order the boot? You will need 2 sets of CV boot clamps and a crimping tool or some method of squeezing the clamp shut. You did say the outer boot didn't you. Don't hate me but you have to remove the inner boot and CV joint so you can slide the outer boot off from the opposite end. Unless you bought the split boot. You may or may not need extra grease for the inner joint that you had to take apart.

ya just the outer boot. Grr. No i bought the regual replacement. I didnt want to trust a split boot. Ive got grease but what kind of tool is it. the new ones come with rachet clamps
