Yea, update the thread when start, with a few pics if you can. I'm curious for sure. I believe I have the kit, but don't think I installed it. Under the impression that I had to remove the trans at the time. Perhaps I'm not recalling everything as well, - it was 140,000 miles ago lol. Cleaning the valve body/accumulator, shift kit and great fluid did the trick for mine at the time.
So perhaps I'll try this, can't hurt.
Hey , it'll get me out of body work for awhile anyway.
Thanks for the post Holicori!

Ok, I got to thinking and I feel bad, this may entail a little more finese than I originally thought.
The OD band needs to be on top of the pin...so the pin pushes it tight. When you take the pin out, the band will move back some. So you probably need to find a way (maybe a small mechanic pick) to hold the band from falling too far back (past the hole the servo pin goes in). Then quick put the new one in.
Normally this is done with the transmission out, and it is extremely extremely easy to do and know its sitting correct.
If you want to keep the transmission in, it will require alot more finese, but I think possible...even if unorthodox. I would get a few mechanic picks that have different angles to them.

I found a really thorough write-up and saw how to hold the band in place while I drop the servo out. It really shouldnt be awful but I should be able to handle it no problem.
Ok, good. I've always pulled my tranny and forgot you were leaving it in. And I'm also just a shade tree mechanic. Going on rebuild #2 this week...first time it failed, sorta. Hopefully this time it takes.
Let me know the result. I'm really eager to see if that works.

I will do it. They just shipped it today so hopefully the flood waters will recede and I will get a chance to fix the trans.
