Default Tranny Problem

Truck is a 1998 F150 4.6 auto 4x4
Transmission started acting up today and I am lost trying to figure out what is wrong. Problem started out by the truck being really sluggish in the 15-35mph range then drove like normal once it shifted. Got it home, and it won't engage into reverse....I can move the lever into reverse but it acts like park still. All the forward gears work, but if I put it in neutral it puts power to the wheels forward as well. Looked underneath and the tranny is leaking a bit and fluid smells a little burnt. It is throwing 2 codes as well. P1707 (Transfer case neutral indicator hard fault) and P1503(auxiliary speed sensor fault). Haven't been able to find any info on the P1707 code and not sure where to go from here. Any ideas?

Check to see if your shift cable is messed up. Is you shift point for drive, neutral, reverse, park, moving so it doesn't get there. Is your trans full of fluid or mostly empty? Things won't work if it is empty or burnt up.

Clear your trouble codes. Disconnect positive lead on battery for a couple minutes, reconnect, start and warm up truck. See if it will shift ok.

Replaced the solenoid and didn't fix the problem. But I realized that with the truck off, I can roll it in neutral. If the truck is running tho, it gets power to the wheels in neutral.

Check to see if fuse 23 is blown or circuit broken. Check manual for fuse. Use tester eye may play trick on you. A faulty solenoid valve would pop it. You may have lost a clutch if all is good.
