Unhappy Tranny hellppp

Ok, i need some help... I did the typical dumb *** teenager thing with my truck and took it off road. And now my tranny is actin up It will go in 1st and 2nd like nothing ever happened, but it wont shift any higher than 2nd. Its not slipping at all or anything, just not shifting. Anyone have ANY idea of what is wrong? Thanks - Josh

naw lol but it might be gone into limp mode to i have heard of them doing that the beset thing to do is take it to a tranny shop and have them put the computer on it if its in limp mode the computer will take it back out how many miles does the truck have on it and and have you ever changed the fluid in it?

the truck has 176,500 miles and never changed the tranny oil since ive had it. Also, how much was the rebuild on your tranny?

ok then whatever you do dont change your tranny fluid that will cause it to go out since it aint ever been changed and to rebuild mine it cost 1200 for a shop to do it for me i think its alot cheaper to do it your self i just didnt have the time to do it and maybe it did fix its self

mine did that too. 267k miles and i took it mudding. Wouldn't go into first, third, and it would barely hold overdrive. Scared me to death, after driving it for about 25-30 miles, it fixed itself, after that I changed tranny fluid and filter, been fine since.

Well it may have been a hassle, but i sure had a hell of a time doing it... And IMO, my truck looked pretty sweet covered in mud
