Default Trade Down???

Hey guy's. Would any of you guys trade your 97-03 for a ground up and modified, like engine/trans work restoration for a 78-79 f150?

There's a guy in town that has a beautiful 78 LB ext.cab completely restored
f150, he asked if I wanted to trade my 02 screw 5.4 143k. I told him I'd think about it. I don't know what his truck is worth, mines probly in 8-9k just guessing.

i don't have the money assuming he would think his is worth my 02', I didn't ask him if he would take cash instead of trade. Regardless, these late models are pretty comfy.

I, personally, would not make the trade.

I don't have any pics, just say light metalic blue inside and out it's basically showroom, 351 .30 0ver 4bbl edelbrock C6 w/mild shift kit.
I think [ with your help] I'm talking myself out of it.

1. it's not as comfortable
2. it doesn't cruise @ 70mph and get 18mpg
3. and darned sure [although I didn't drive it] it's not as quiet cruising down the hiway.
Both trucks are 4x4
The more I think about the more lame the trade would be.

Only thing that would keep me from the trade is the difference in mpg

honestly.. if its the 351M i would never ever ever trade for one, they are gas guzzling doggs, it takes one hellova build on a modified to get it to make the power it should have.. you have to upgrade the cam, bump up the compresion ratio, work on the heads, and get a perfectly matched 4 bbl to get power out of them.. i wouldnt hesitate to buy it, but trade... only if my motor was 3/4 dead..
