I can easily do a 2000 lb trailer with a 4.2. I've seen guys safely pull 30-40 horse tractors through the mountains with their 4.6's. A 30 horse tractor weights about 6000 lbs, a 40 can way close to 7500 lbs. These trucks are set to pull 10,000 lbs from the factory with automatics. If you have a standard like me, OE clutches are only good for 3500 lbs, even thought the transmissions are geared lower than their auto counterparts. Here is one for you, 3/4 ton Cummins and Duramax diesels will pull upwards of 25,000 lbs if you know what your doing.

a 97 explorer with the 5.0 at the moment

Tell ever who it was that said your 351 equipped Bronco wouldn't pull it, that they're full of chit.

This is regularly seen behind my 5.4

Who ever told you your Bronco couldn't pull maybe 3500lbs of weight total is an idiot.
