See that's odd. I have a 2000 4.6L 2wd and it has the ten bolt rear end and the tow package. And I think it has a brake controller wiring but no brake controller since there's two ports under my dash and a metal plate for the controller to attach b. I knew some of the things that come with the package bc I have a truck with one, I'd forgotten about the wiring for the trailer. The truck has four wheel disc brakes also. I don't think the tow package came with 9.75 rear end.

I believe I read on here that all the 5.4 trucks had the 9.75 standard and that the 4.6 and 4.2 had the 8.8 regardless of trim/options

I wouldn't mind seeing a pic of that, if you could. I'm also curious as to where they installed it

I never installed mine but here is what was included in the bag:

Harness made in mexico

I wouln't have the slightest clue how to install this, even with the directions, but from the looks of the drawing, it looks like it wires in directly under that little slot under the steering wheel

My 2000 has that lol. I noticed it when I first got my truck, had no idea what it was, stuck it in one the door slots and it's sitting there now.

I have an 02 screw that has the electric brake wiring already hooked up, the plug is mounted right on the obd2 port bracket. I have mine hooked up with my brake controller mounted in the useless slot above the obd2 port.

IF i had the wires already, does that mean i had the tranny cooler. I had to put the hitch on.

Nice, 'the useless slot' pretty much sums it up and that's where I figured the factory controller would be.
