Question Time Delay Lights

Has anyone thought about how to get the headlights to stay on a couple of minutes after they are turned off like on some of the newer cars? wanting to do this to save my HID's from flashing. I temporarily disconnected the wire that flashes the lights on the key-less entry box.

***Anyone with some electronics skills look at this and see if it would work. Thinking it could tie in behind the headlight switch.

http://www.wolstentech.com/products/...delayrelay.php

I put one of these on my motorcycle to delay the HID from turning on until after the bike was running.

You can delay the turn on and the shut off of the bulb by up to 60 seconds.

I highly recommend it, mine has been great so far.

Should work on your application.

I'm confused about the 2 inputs and one output. I would need 2 since I want to run my fog lights also right?

Yes, there are two inputs so the relay can be triggered by a positive or negative switch. You will only wire one input to the relay.

Yes, you would need another relay for the fog lights.

The guys at that company are great with customer service. If you have questions about it I'm sure they will point you in the right direction.

Great product though.

Good luck

One last question to rack your brain. I could just run jumpers to the original relay spots for fog and head lights and have it work like it is supposed to insted fo adding a lot more wires. I'm at work right now and can't call. Just trying not to over think it.

***Update***

I got the relays posted above in and they work great. I ended up using it on my fog lights. I made jumpers going out of the points where the original fog light relay goes and mounted the time delay relay outside of the fuse panel.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction wmx124

HEY, glad they worked out for you.

Really cool product and very nice to have with any set of HID bulbs.

Thats cool! I've looked for something to keep interior lights on, so when door is closed I can see to put key in to start truck! I take it this delay relay will work? Can you get it at any auto store?
