"Union Pacific's legendary Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive built to conquer mountains, will make 19 whistle-stops in five states this summer during its 2024 Westward Bound Tour from Wyoming to California. In addition, this mighty steam locomotive will be on public display for two days each in Roseville, California, July 12-13, and Ogden, Utah, July 20-21."
1.1 million pounds of locomotive? I would love to see that!
That's cool! Last time it came through UT, it came right passed here. I have a track about a mile away that it did/will go on. I had no idea what was going on before.... just saw a bunch people by the track waiting.
I am doing something in the effort of sciences. I discovered that in 2003, Ford used a dual diaphragm vacuum booster in the Expedition and Navigator, and it looks like it will fit a wee bit better than the previous version.
I ordered it... if it's a swing and a miss, I'm fine with that. I just want to bring the options up if I can. I'm prepared for it to fail.... but I'll always wonder if it'd work if I don't try.
It's actually on the cold side here right now.... at least compared to what it has been. The wind blew in some junk this afternoon. It's currently only 50 degrees out. Supposed to drop to 40 overnight. I just got inside though... I got all 8 studs on the drivers side to break loose. I loosened them all about a full turn and gave 'em a spritz of panther ****. I used a 13mm on all 8 too. They're in much better shape than the passenger side. I wouldn't even be too worried if the EGR pipe adapter didn't look like dog poo.
I used **** and poo in my description... LOL.
I feel for you working on rusty parts
At least it will be nice around here again today
Got about the same amount of rust on one that I am working on presently
Truck only went 5mph (transfer case fork)
Could not get the torsion bars out, or the keys to release
Had to cut the exhaust up to get the M'fer out
All fixed now
Good luck

I hope you get to see it. If so, pics and video are a must!

I don't see any difference except a slightly smaller diaphragm diameter (1/4") and an extra 3 lbs. of weight. The snout is smaller, but will that really matter? (I guess you'll find out!)

I'm hoping it will work out. If not... I'll sell it or send it back.
A couple trips to the store, and we're back in business. I was missing two bolts in the motor mount. Also had to cut the EGR pipe and put it in my vice to get that off there. It was tight!

I was so happy that every stud came out with the nut. The whole job I didn't break any. Just started with one broke when I got in there. The stud puller got it right out.
