Not sure if any of you are into audio, but this was my latest project.
Free Minimus 77's from eBay. I bought them advertised in "good" condition for the woofers. Ummm....
I requested (and received) a refund.
Parts Express order
Components and parts built into new crossovers. The original was just a small choke-and-cap high-pass for the tweeter, with the woofer running full range. This is the "Zilch" crossover well documented for the Minimus 7's. Since the 77's use the same tweet, I thought it would work out well for these. (It did.)
Sound deadened the cabinets. (I think the difference in sound when I put each back on the table impressed me even more than the tapping.)
The woofers required a little time on the bench sander to flatten out the sides, but otherwise they're a good fit. (I should've done the bottom, too, but trimmed the grill a little instead..)
Finished!
I have another set stock that I want to do an A/B comparison with at some point, but HUGE upgrade form the original sound.

TopDon emailed me tonight. I was selected to be a beta tester for the new version of this scanner. It's supposed to be released and ship in early December.
