Yep.... he's wanting some mechanic in a bottle to fix it. He thinks wording his questions differently will generate a better answer.

Straight up needs a rebuild. LOL @ Lucas treatment.....

LOL.... yep.

While I agree that some additives do aid in shifting, etc. - it's not bringing it back to life. Somehow he thinks that water got in the trans through the dipstick tube.... I took my hands off the wheel at that point. If there was enough to see evidence of water intrusion, the dipstick tube is not your point of entry unless the whole truck was under water and the dipstick was gone..... etc. I betcha the guy has a leak in the radiator cooler.

There's a lot more to the story, or this guy is way too much of a newb to be trying to fix it on his own.

Soooo..... I got a ticket last week. Cop says I was going 49 in a 35. I was passing a car to get into the right lane, because I was going to make a right turn at the next light. When I saw the cop, I looked at my speedo, and I was going 40. I tried telling him that, but he just asked me for my license and did the ticket. At first, I was just going to pay the ticket and take the traffic court to avoid points on my record. But the more I think about it, I think I am going to appeal it. I think he was wrong - but I don't know how I prove myself vs. his "radar". I did not even see him holding a radar gun either....

Any pointers from you thinkers? Quite honestly, this is my first speeding ticket. Ironically, I get one when I was not even speeding....

EDIT: BTW, Brew.... was just talking to my old boss here at work, and a couple of his neighbors flooded over the weekend. I also took the family out to the desert for a little exploring. One of the places I was going to go had so much water sitting at the base that I chose not to go - because I had the Escape (2WD) and the whole family. If I was in the F150, I woulda done it. Took a couple pics.... I'll hafta post some.

That sucks. There's nothing you can do to prove you're right unless maybe you had dashcam video with a GPS speed reading. As for no gun, the radar was likely a fixed-mount in the car. Lately the only guns I've seen ar LiDAR. If it's a no-points violation, it might be better to just pay the darned thing and move on, as sometimes court costs can be just as much. On the other hand, I'd have a hard time accepting that, too. Dress business casual, be on time for court, be polite, say "I realize that it is still over the posted limit, but honestly believe I was travelling only 40 MPH, as I glanced down at my speedometer when I noticed the officer..." There's a possibility the officer may not even show up, and if so, you're off the hook automatically. I'm not sure there's much more to say, but others may have other tips.

Does anyone know the wire value of the fusible links, I'm thinking it might be easier to buy a reel of the correct size fuse wire & just replace that part of it

I've found a YouTube video of someone doing it on a different vehicle and whilst fiddly, it does look do-able
Just to follow up on this, I managed to find a workshop manual to download and in the electrical section it actually has the fusible links listed on the wiring diagram

So I have ordered a length of 12 gauge Fusible Link wire and will have a go at swapping them out when it arrives

I might still order a correct replacement harness when (if) they come back into stock but hopefully this will fix my problem

Damn... I left a part out. He was a motorcycle cop.... bike was facing west, and I was traveling north. He would have had to have had a radar gun to see me.

SLC will also let me appeal online - and as far as I can tell, that may be the ONLY way to appeal.... almost seems like they know they're going to get a lot of resistance from citizens, and don't want to congest courts with it.
