One coat should be fine as long as it's covered. Everyone has the tendency to rush the job just to get it done. Are you brushing this on or spraying?

I'm using a paint brush for this. I wish I had the equipment to spray- it would help to get the POR15 in more places I can't reach.

I discovered a little paint bubble/crack on my fever side rocker and pushed on it a tad-crunch!- . I now have a 4 in long rust hole in the rocker and looks like the rest is soon to follow. Passenger side is on its way too but no that bad. Real shame that's happened. I put electrical tape over it and called it a day with the F150 seemingly endless rust issues. Off to the body shop it goes to be patch welded then probably onto craigslist soon afterward once I finish the POR15 job this next week. Too much money to fix this truck for my income when I can easily find another rust free one where I live. Real shame it was taken on the beach...

Sounds like we have similar trucks, mine was near the beach so it's got more rust than most other trucks in the area, not as bad as yours. It's getting the POR-15 treatment now,I can't get rid of the truck though,I like it too much lol. No rust on the body, just surface rust on the frame and what not. Took all of the rust off with an air powered wire brush and started the paint process this after noon. Of course all the damn bugs land in it
