Default Subwoofer Setups?

At are you guys running as far as subwoofers under your seat? I currently have 2 12's mounted where a center console would be but I need my center console back so I'm just trying to figure out what would sound good under the rear seats. Anybody have anything they think is really loud under the back seats? I know I'll sacrifice some SPL for comfort/convenience but it'll look and perform better if they're under my seat. So what do you guys have? Any modifications?

I know you probably don't want to buy new subs but if you get a decently expensive or higher quality 10(s). You could probably get more bass than what you have with your 2 12s. Deoending on what you have now. This would eliminate a need for a seat lift.
I have a single 10 that pounds in my opinion. It's a Dayton 10" with 600w rms. Makes my headlights dim when I blast my music.

I use a single high excursion 8" subwoofer in sealed box.
It moves more air than most slim 10s and has better sound quality
. it hits midbass too. All the spl I need with 200 real watts rms driving it.

Of course I listen to real music, not fake synthesized bass

I can't my setup under my seat. But my new setup when my interior is done will be 2 Sundown Z series 8"s. With about 1500 watts in a 6th order bandpass box it will more than enough. I currently have a 12" Sundown Z4 in a 4.5 cu ft ported box and it's way too much for suckered a small cab.

Where do you have the Z4?

What I have now is loud. I know I'll sacrifice quite a bit of sound to fit them under my seats. They're pretty high quality 12's. I can't do a seat lift because I can't unbolt the two outside bolts holding the seat posts down.

I will second selling off the 12's and picking up a set of quality 10"s. I really don't see how you could make the room for 12's under the rear seat. Even if you get them in there your looking at .60 cuft at best which isn't enough air space to get much out of them. You'll get more out of a 10" sub because it has air volume to compress vs the larger sub with virtually nothing.

I put two MTX 6000's in a 1.4 cubic foot enclosure with 900 watts feeding them and it absolutely slams. Very happy with it and it takes up zero usable space.

What amp are you using? Just being curious.

It's a relatively inexpensive Pioneer http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uqVVJVq...-GM-A5602.html Pioneer is one of the few (non high end manufacturers) who state true RMS output and not some BS peak number that an amp couldn't hit downhill with the wind for more than .000001 seconds. Lot of bang for the buck. Just noticed Walmart has it on sale for $111, that's a TON of amp for that money.

And it fits PERFECTLY under the passenger seat. If it was 1/4" bigger in any direction it wouldn't fit.

Did you make this box your self or buy it somewhere?
