It will definitely be an upgrade, that is no doubt!

Is it worth the $100 upgrade from the CX 600.1 from the CX 300.1? Just for basic sound improvement.

id say so especially since you're doubling power output

Depends. Did you want the 4ohm or 2 ohm woofer?

Running a sub in 2 ohm drops the efficiency of the amp, requiring a stronger electrical system. Meaning you will have to run larger wires for power and ground. It creates a larger draw on the electrical system as well.

I'm running 2 10" Rockford fosgate shallows. 114.95 for the pair shipped. A box for under the seat of the supercrew. Like $60 shipped. And a now discontinued alpine mrp-m500 amp. I wired the subs in a 2ohm circuit and they hit plenty hard. If I "want" more or less bass I just adjust it on my head unit. Just change the preset EQ or adjust the bass boost. What's nice about the head unit is I can actually turn off my subs for when my parents ride with me which is a plus. The head is a pioneer DEH-x7500hd which I got from Crutchfield for $90 on sale. I think I payed like $150 for the amp. Any questions just ask away! That's what this place is for! Forgot to mention, head unit also charges my phone while playing music! Great feature

Was riding around running errands i ran by an audio shop. This is what he suggested. JL Subwoofer (10W1V3-2), Rockford Amp (R500X1D), Stinger 4000 Series 8 Gauge Kit.

JL 10w1 is junk. The RF R500 will blow it up quite easily. I have a RF 1000.1 running my TC Sounds Axis 12" and it has even blew it up once.
