Stuck on tire size

Trying to figure out if I should go with a 265/75/16 or a 285/75/16 on a 2wd. Going with a 3.5 spindle lift and 2" blocks in the rear. Right now it has some 235/50/16 highway tires that get stuck in anything wet

What's your gear ratio? Anything less than a 3.55 stick with 265's. I had 285's with 3.31's and it was a dog.
