Waiting on Napa delivery LOL. He cleaned it up real good. Checked everything else while waiting.
Will probably be $100-120 labor I am guessing.
Tow was $86 which insurance will pay for.
This starter is the only issue this truck has ever had.
Love it.

You're not kidding. I plan on doing that job myself anyway so I didn't bother. One hour of labor, $72. They will fight with Napa. Apparently they are not fans of Napa starters.
Napa is the best to deal with on claims of that kind IME. Of course that may depend upon the person running the store.

Here's something a guy posted on the gun forum i frequent. I know the garage cleaned all the connections, but where would this block ground be? Another guy said to change the battery cables but these look like a pain.
"You may have a ground problem. The starter case grounds to the engine block where it's bolted up, but there's also a ground cable from the block leading back to the battery. Often times changing a starter will cure the problem for a short amount of time, but it will come back. Have the shop check your block ground and also make sure they clean the mating surface where the starter bolts up."

Well, that could be any cable for that matter, pos or neg. The block ground is the starter bolt itself, then that ground running from the battery doubles back to the frame right behind the passenger side wheel. The weakest link in all that is the frame ground. The hold down bolt is weak and strips out easy. It's also on a flat surface. Water tends to sit there and corrode.
But he is correct, I already said to check those anyway lol. Post 16.
