Default straight pipe on v6

Will straight piping make the perform any better or worse. Theres a bad exhaust leak on one of the cats. I will probably get dummy o2 sensors. I really need some insight on this. Thanks, jake

You will gain nothing and it will sound terrible trust me I just did it in mine. It is so loud and drones like crazy. The pitch is also terrible. Don't do it.

Also dummy sensors will make your truck run like poop.

Alot of people say straight piping your truck makes it lose power i never noticed any power loss in my 4.6.
But i wouldn't do it if i were you my buddy had a v6 chev straight piped and it was horrible sounding so high pitched it was like nails on a chalkboard nothing like a v8.

V8's sound like *** straight piped. Nothing sounds good straight piped unless you have glow plugs.

Straights on a V6 sounds like a cranky lawnmower. The felt "loss" of power is from wrongly sized systems that do not maintain velocity/flow. Look at Dynomax bullets for your V6, sounds good and doesn't take down the sound too much.

take off the rear cats (if the leak is one of them) but i would recommend welding it where the leak is

then get some headers, intake kit (or gotts mod), and a glasspack or decent muffler that will keep you truck quiet until you get on the gas

NEVER STRAIGHT PIPE A V6 1. it will sound like **** especially if you dont have headers. and 2. I have seen the v6's sputter etc. when they have no cats

Like I said I would really recommend welding the cat shut at the leak

i also have a used cherry bomb glasspack for sale if you want to pay to ship it plus my $10 asking price Its not fully broken in tho
