If you're not looking to replace the whole system, replacing your head unit is going to do a lot more for you than just replacing your door speakers.

Tons of great options out there. I threw some Infinity Kappas in my old Ranger that I got from Best Buy. They were on clearance for 29 bux a pair. Check around for deals at stores and CL.

Check out the Alpine SPS 5x7/6x8's. They are sort of middle-grade quality from alpine and are a bargain for the money. They handle around 75 rms each, so they can pump out some bump if you decide to throw more power to them.

Make sure whatever speakers you do decide to get are 4ohms. Most factory HU's are only 4ohm stable, thus a 2ohm load would over heat and cause possible damage to both the speakers and the HU/internal amp.

IDK if my truck came with premium speakers, but they sound great. I have no urge to replace them. My 99 Ranger's speakers didn't sound anything near as good as these do.
