I am in need if another key for my 00 XLT. However, I don't feel like paying 70 bucks for it so I looked for a cheaper alternative. I found smart keys at deal extreme. My question is if it'll work and what I gotta do to make it work?

That looks like an empty blank, that won't work to start your truck. You need a PATS key, like a H72-PTO from howard keys, they normally run between $10-$20 and to program it to your truck start your truck with one of your existing keys then shut it off, and within 5 seconds start it with your new key. or most locksmiths can make a clone key for you for about $30

If you're trying to program a new key you only need one master on a 2000, I do this on a regular basis when installing remote starters

That didn't work, on my '99. I just went out and tried it.

Way back in the day we used to hide dummy chipped keys under the dash to make remote start systems work.
