so the gotts mod is just taking out that piece and putting in a ordinary hollow piece of tube

and the silencer mod is just carefully taking out that muffler inside that tube

and all this is free

what are the effects of the gotts mod and silencer mod together?

thanks

Yep, thats pretty much what they are, have you seen the how-tos of both of them?

I did both at the same time, and I was very pleased with the results, better throttle response, better top-end, and more hill-climbing power. It feels like ot doesn't have to kick-down out of overdrive as near as much. I've also noticed slightly better mpgs to boot!

i read on here some where that in the hot summer it will hurt the performance and what about -35 below winters??

These mods shouldn't hurt in hot weather, the intakes that cause problems in hot weather are under the hood intakes. If your sucking in hot air from the engine compartment that could cause less performance, but with these your getting the coldest air possible, from outside.

-35 weather shouldn't cause problems either, the colder the air the more dense, meaning a more efficient combustion.

The best filter would probably be a K&N, but if you don't have the $50, the fram will work for now, thats what I'm currently running.

ok i am thinkin i might just try the gotts mod for now see what that does and if i feel anything i will maybe try the silencer. i was thinking now that i might just get 2 bends one without the silencer and one with and change as the seasons change. and change the PVC pip to the stock as well

what will just the gotts mod do? with the silencer in ?

I don't see much of a reason to change for the season, its never going to not help, no matter what temp it is outside.

The Gotts mod will still help without the silencer, I think thats probably the more helpful mod anyway.

I think that kookookachew meant to say that the mods will NOT hurt during hot weather. The intakes that hurt in hot weather are the cold air intakes that are made of steel or aluminum and hold heat in the hot weather. You will also be fine in the cold it got to about -15 up in the UP this winter and I had no problems.
