Does anyone know if i can put a dana 44 and leave my stock axle? Im not sure if they have to be the same. I would imagine that as long as they are geared the same they should be ok?

As long as they are geared the same you are fine. Theoretically you could stick a 1-ton dually axle in the front as long as the gear ratio was the same, pumpkin was in correct position, and it had reverse cut gears.

^Yep! 4x4 F150s came with either 8.8s front and rear or 8.8 front and 9.75 rear. Only problem is getting gears that are the same ratio for two different axles.

I saw that truck online a while back...Not my favorite solid axle project, nothing against it but it's just not the best way to do a coil setup... That thing needs some major reworking to be functional/capable...

I'm sure he went back to the drawing board since those pics...
