Default sensor?

Hi

This truck caught fire some time ago, and now I think this melted piece is causing my problems, if touch it, sometimes the truck runs better.

Is it a sensor? what is it?

I think It's the EGR valve, should have a steel line running from the bottom to the exsust manifold.Whops! Im sorrry, after going out to my truck to look, you should replace it cause it is your throtel positioning sensor.(looks like the egr from the pic)That would cause you truck to run like dookie.

melted parts do usually indicate a fault. that's the throttle position sensor.

Thanks!

I assume it is just the connector on the pic, and the sensor is where the cable ends.

right?

Any ideas if a replacement from another model/year will work?

Local ford dealer wont sell parts for f series.

The melted piece is your throttle position sensor, the round thing below it is the EGR. You can get a new throttle position sensor for around $20 at any parts store
