Default Seat back issues

Sometimes when I have to recline the back of my seat, it doesnt seem to want to catch when I try to move it back and it just keeps springing forward. What do I do?

I wonder if its a latch (F65Z-1562648-AA), which is no longer available. When I move the back of the seat backward, I can hear a clicking but it will not stay where it needs. Anyone know where a replacement can be had or what could be wrong here?

Have you tried using a spray lube?

F65Z-1562649-AA is actually the latch for the drivers side. Your number is the passengers side. You are still correct though. It is a discontinued part.

Any drivers seat out of a GEN10 regular cab or Supercab will have the correct assembly for you. The Screws and Expy's are different, as they only go forward a few inches. You can still recline it but it will not give you access to behind if you are in a reg cab.

The passenger side is the issue, thats why I went with that number

Gen 10 (97-03) wont help me because the parts are discontinued and we really dont have a junkyard that will let you pull the part.

Certainly there has to be aftermarket parts somewhere? But where?

Junk yard or eBay. You would have to open up your seat to replace a part anyway.

What seats do you have? my captain seats in my 99 scab the lever is down low and the catch is under the seat.

When you said your seat, it sounded like the drivers side. I'm going to my buddies on Tuesday. I have 2 sets of seats and could pull you the right if you can't find one first.

I have the 60/40 seats with the center console in the middle.

How do you open the seats up?? I am thinking the dealer may be my last resort. No luck on ebay

I tried spraying some WD40 in on the latch where I could see.

And of course, I broke off the damn push pin on the back side of the grey trim and still couldnt get the trim piece off. Guess its dealer time since this seems to be a unique issue.
