Default Rough Idle

What happens is my truck runs fine all when I'm just driving around town and stuff but when it comes to trips on the highway it's a different story. Basically if I drive at about 60-80 mph on the highway accelerating to pass etc.(I'm 20 so I tend to drive a little reckless) but when I get off and come to a stop my truck really struggles to stay on. The RPMs drop to about 3000-4000 and the while truck shakes like it wants to stall out. What I do is just put the truck in neutral and it brings the RPMs back up to around 7000. If i leave it in drive and go to take off some times she bogs down and i have to hold the pedal to the floor and it finally kicks and is fine again kinda like a power-band. And my truck struggles in reverse really bad as well after these highway runs. I'm dealing with it as of now but I would like to find the problem, I had my MAF cleaned new air filter etc. If anyone thinks or knows what it maybe it would be appreciated. Thanks

Does the truck give you any trouble starting? When the truck acts up, get out and give the IAC a couple light taps with something hard. If it straightens out then you have a bad IAC that is sticking.

No trouble starting at all, just after initially get on and off it. Like really accelerate hard and what not.

Hmmm... like i said give the IAC a couple taps and see how that goes. It may even be sticky valves. The 2.0l spi focus engine had that problem. The test was to rev it up to about 2500 rpm and let off the throttle and if it started missing then the valves were sticking

Idle Air Control. It's gona be right by your throttle body. It's a little metal cylinder shaped valve that helps control the air flow into the engine at idle. It will have an electrical connector to it as well.
