Default rough idle

HELP! In the morning when I crank my 2003 F150, it's runs fine until I turn on the a.c., then it idles super rough. It feels like it is only running on 6 of the 8 cylinders. After I get out of the driveway and get going it starts running correctly. No code, no light - HELP!

Maybe it is a 6 cylinder. Which engine do you have ?

No, it's an 8 cylinder 4.6 L Triton.

Could possibly be coil packs. They're cheap enough to replace start with that and see where it gets you.

That truck doesn't use coil pacs.

Check fuel filter and pressure, air filter as well.

I am going to change out the fuel filter when I get home. I have a feeling that's the cause. I have never heard of an air filter causing a rough idle.

Thanks for your input.

If the air filter is loaded up it can. Using the air requires more from the engine, if it can't breath well....

I do not let things like that occur, my truck is my baby and I spend more money on it than I do clothes!

Well, as long as it doesn't get more baths than you do....that's when it gets a little ate-up.
