Default Rocker Panel

Just got my replacement rocker panel from Rock Auto, the full one for my super cab 99 F150. Do I have to cut most of the old rusted one out, or will this fit over the top? Do I have to remove the doors to get it on? It is for the driver's side. Is there a vid on this?

Cut the old rusted metal out, take the doors off to make it easier.

Did you buy the slip on type that just covers your Rust problem or did you buy patch panels to fix the issue?

Cover ups or not, imo, i would remove as much rusty metal as possible, treat the rest with a rust inhibitor/reducer, primer and put a coat of paint or maybe even undercoating/ bed liner before fastening in the patch panels- then touch up after you install them.

Cover -ups are a major waste of time. If it's to the point of thinking about cover-ups, the rockers are too far gone anyway. It's going to rot around them, because you can't get to the inside of the rocker Plus, it's just as much work or perhaps even more installing them correctly. Fitting a complete rocker, then shooting it isn't that bad. What sucks about that is you have to remove everything, fenders, doors and unbolt the bed and move it back. A full rocker isn't that pricey, and they are14 gauge rocker replacements.
