Default Replacement Seats

I am looking to replace my bench front seats with buckets and a center console. I found out that the '03 F150 didn't come with a bucket option. Does anybody know if the '01 or '02 F150 had a bucket option?

From what I understand the Lariat models came with bucket seats with the center console ( I could be wrong) Or you could try to find an Expedition. If I'm thinking of this correctly any f series truck and the expedition 97-03 will fit with some minor(if any) alterations.

Buckets were an option in 03. You could go that route or do the expedition route as mentioned above. Not sure if any other f-series will be a direct bolt in though.

You can also use Superduty seats but you'll have to swap the seat tracks from the F150 seats over. They look awesome in the F150 too. Expedition buckets are slightly smaller than the buckets that come in the F150 but will bolt right in. You can also cut the center seat/console out of the 60/40 split bench, sew up the side of the passenger seat and have buckets that way, but the real OEM buckets have much taller cushion foam. Extra style points if you dump the OEM F150 center console and go with the Expedition floor console that mounts flush against the dash.

Staying in the same year range is the easiest way to go.
I've seen several threads on this and other forums about the Expy swap.

If you stay in the same year range, all the holes should be there, but you might have to tap the ones that are unused on your truck.

I've thought about the Expy swap myself since I have a 97 F150 XLT SC and I have a buddy has a 98 Expy Eddie Bauer and I like that setup. But since I have radio gear mounted on the lower dash, andI've gotten used to having the cooler sit where the console goes on trips, I'm gonna just live with the 60/40 bench.

my 97 XLT had buckets & a console. i ended up installing an expedition console in mine. then i did this mod to my lightning (before i sold it)

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...nsole-how.html

you can follow the same basic principles when it comes down to installing the passenger seat (like tapping the holes). good info in that how to.
