Default Rear end clacking

Hey y'all I have a 99 f150 4x4 with a 3.55 open diff 9.75 rear end and I have this terrible clacking noise coming from the drivers side of the rear end at speeds of 0-20 mph any faster and you can not hear it. What can it be? Thanks in advance, Clay.

No shaking going going down the road. Drives the same but just wanting to know what the noise it. I'm starting to think it's a wheel bearing

Is it constant and speed up when you accelerate or just random

On acceleration and deceleration. After 20mph it stops. Truck has drum brakes and they were fine when I checked them. But I noticed the hubs on both side of the axle have alittle over an 8th of an inch in play.

That isn't good in my opinion that's a lot of slop could be bad bearings even possible misalignment of ring and pinion

How hard is it to replace the bearing? and how can you tell if the ring and pinion is misaligned?

Pull tires and brakes off open diff pull c clips pull axle shafts use slide hammer pull bearings install in bearings and reassemble. Diff I would start with bearings. Put truck in neutral block it and see if you have up and down slop in pinion as well as in and out

Alright I hope it's just the bearings. But thanks for the help.
