Default Rear diff

Hello I have 02 fx4 crew, rear diff needs changing. My question is I know where there's a 2004 fx4 super crew both trucks are 3.55 gears with 5.4l . Will they interchange? Thanks

If the 04 has 6 lugs on the axle no.. If it has 5 lugs and looks like your truck then yes.

They never made a FX4 Supercrew Heritage in 04. The Heritage was only a Single Cab or Supercab.

With that being said NO the rearend out of that 04 will not bolt into your 02.

The shock locations are totally different. Bolt pattern is different.

Just a FYI, a rearend out of a 99-03(or 04 Heritage) will bolt in your 02. Doesn't matter if it's a 8.8 or 9.75, there interchangeable. Another FYI is regardless if its 2WD or 4WD the 4.2L and 4.6L had 8.8 rearends and the 5.4L had 9.75.

Might be careful saying that on here, some people swear that you could get a 4.6 with a 9.75 from the factory

I think I read all Supercrews have the 9.75 regardless of motor, but again, I only read that, not sure.
Any supercrew owners with a 4.6 and a 8.8?

I have had many claim that but NEVER had one show proof.

And if they were ever able to show proof I'd be willing to bet that they weren't the original owner to know if it was changed.

A 9.75" in all Supercrews is also NOT true.
