Default Quick wiring question

Hello there,

I purchased a pair of rigid industries dually d2s; however, i made a minor mistake when purchasing them since i bought 2 singles instead of 1 set of 2. Basically what i want to do is connect them to my existing KCs, essentially I want them to come on all at once with one switch. Is there any way i can do that?

I think I will have to connect them to the harness, cut the harness at appropriate length, splice them together, and then splice them to my existing KCs positive and negative. I just don't want to do all the cutting of the harnesses. They are LEDs and KCs are 35W HID, it's not going to hurt them if I splice them to KCs harness?

If there is any other way to do this i would be glad to hear it, thanks for reading!

So are you talking lights? Don't know what a ridgid d2 is.

There's an electrical forum on this site, why not try there.

That's what I thought, but the OP spelled it wrong then, so, well,- I wasn't sure. He did mention Daylighters, (well KC's anyway) and wiring so, -perhaps it was a electrical question...hell if I know.

Use a 5dollar relay from advance auto parts that has both poles active when power hits the switched lead.

Tap Into your kc lights (just one wire from the hot side). Run it to the switching lead on the new relay. Then run power to the relay from the batter. Ground everything. Your done

This isn't a typical bosh SPDT relay, so make sure you get the one that has both pin 87 and 87a normally closed. They are actually cheaper and can be had at advance auto parts for 4.99

Pin 85 - Ground to any part you want (that is a good ground)
Pin 86 - Run a wire from the + off your KC lights to this pin
Pin 87 - Run this wire (12-14ga) to the one of the Rigid + wires (ones you are installing)
Pin 87a - Run this wire (12-14 ga) to the other + on the Rigid (Ones you are installing)
Pin 30 - 10-12ga wire to the batter fused 12" from the battery.

Wasn't expecting that kind of a response, anyways It's spelled Rigid not Ridgid, and if you don't know this brand I can't really help you.

Either way they have dually and dually D2 which is essentially a brighter version. Long story short: is it possible to splice those lights to my KCs (and no they are not daylighters they are Pro sport hid) What I'm trying to say is that i want to cut the harness after the deutsch connectors with few feet of positive and negative wires left and splice those wires into my existing wiring

Thanks ibd, that's a little bit too much when i can just splice positive and negative into the exisitng wiring. My only concern is that it might not work for whatever reason and it's all 16-18ga im pretty sure

Def wouldn't straight wire them. You will burn up at 16-18 gauge if these are high output.

I have a relay here that you need, with some extra wire if you want it. Just make 5 connections and do it the right way.

You would prolly over lead that relay. Most are rated from 25-30 amps continues duty
