My 01 single cab short bed 4x4 w/5.4 w/3.55s i believes. gets 14 if i get it up to 3500-4000 but below 2000 i get 16-16.5. all stock motor except for gotts mod and stock tire size. when i switched to amsoil i gained 1 mpg. and next tires i get will be 32's so I'm sure it will go down to 12-13ish.

"why spend $90 at the pump when I could spend $80....?"

I was spinning around this afternoon at 5,000 to 7,000 RPM. I do it because it's fun. It is well worth it.
Don't you ever go to the fair and buy cotton candy or a corn dog or throw a few darts to win a prize? Don't you ever buy a kid a toy knowing that it will be old news in a couple weeks? Isn't it worth it to see a smile on someone's face - even your own?

Does ten bucks really matter that much?

Are you going to be laying on your death bed and think to yourself "Man, I'm sure glad that I was a miserable, miserly old **** all my life."?

And what's with this my truck never gets over 2200 RPM BS??!!
Are you serious?!?
Take off your support hose, put down your purse and at the very least post a lie.

I agree. But when I'm low on gas etc... I try to drive conservatively. I bought it cause its a truck not cause I was concerned with mpgs. It is a blast to open it up every once in awhile. I was told it was actually healthy for the engine as well.

When you drive a brand new engine you are supposed to drive it like you are going to drive it. High RPM's create different wear patterns on the goods because things are getting stretched and compressed differently than with conservative driving. It is best to have the wear patterns in place from the get go. Besides, if something is going to go sideways on you make it happen right away while you still have the full coverage.

Why make a big fuss about the way people want to drive there truck? This is a forum where people discuss sh*t not a forum were you try an flex your ***** and make people feel stupid. you honestly think a engine that is romped on all the time is gonna last longer than an engine that is babied? How many people you think own a 97-03 f150 have been the only owner to put the right "wear marks" on the engine?
