I agree that if you put illegal mods on your vehicle then you are opening yourself up to tickets and such. I have my taillights tinted with VHT Nightshade. They turned out a little darker then I wanted but I do also have a light bar under my tailgate. I also had NO IDEA it was illegal to tint them until after I tinted them. That is my fault, I just never gave the legality any thought. I haven't been pulled over yet (knock on wood). When I save enough cash I will replace the taillights with legal new ones.

I've been pulled over three times for my tail lights in te last monthI painted them black over just the reflector part never painted over the bulb. Could see it clear as day. Third time they have me ticket. So had to clean all paint off I back to police station and have then see I cleaned off all the paint. They dismissed the ticket for ten bucks. On a side note I been running em this way for 4 yrs and just now get bothered. My personal opinion. Really big deal reflective part covered. But can see clear. The cops just love and want to give tickets for the stupidest things.

Only been pulled over twice and both times got speeding tickets for doing 50 in a 35 and 78 in a 65, no warnings for me apparently. Both times I have had tinted windows that are too dark, no front license plate, and tinted tail lights
