Default Programmer questions?

Ok so I've been looking at the sct x4 and I don't see where I can personalize my shift points? It's says under the information that you can buy YouTube vids don't show it. Can someone shed some light on if it's possible to change each gear to a different point it shifts with this programmer.

Never heard of that. All a tune is is shift point manipulation unless you enough power adders to tune the AF's. You generally get 3 sets of canned tunes = 3 sets of shift points for economy, performance and tow.

You can always customize a tune/shift-points but it has to be written and uploaded. A tune isn't worth the expense for these trucks IMO, the 3Valves yes,Ford left plenty on the table, but not the original NA 2V's.

I just want to get away from my truck constantly shifting running 70-80 . . . It down shifts every time when it hits a hill . You think a one of the canned tunes would help that ?

What size engine do you have? What size tires and wheels are you running?

What year? I remember reading on one of the tuners fine print that with some of the earlier models there was no shift point adjustments.

Personally IME I wouldn't waste any cash on a tuner unless I had head work done, cams or a supercharger. There just isn't enough there to tune w/other bolt ons that the factory tuned PCM can't accommodate for IMO. However the addition of a shift kit was done, but that was to extend my transmissions life span and it like a charm (330,00 plus miles). However it can help a little with towing from what I've been told. Not worth it to me.

As I said before, -if I had an 04 3V, a tuner would be in the cards for sure...right after an air intake mod lol.

I haven't heard that about shift points in the past tc, but don't doubt it a bit. Usually it's all they can play with lol.

Brew I have to disagree with you. If I could do it over again even with buying a $650 programmer I wouldn't go back. I love the extra power but also all the functions I got along with the Sct ts +

Nothing wrong with that, - if you can warrant what you get for the money. I couldn't see it personally.
