Truck turns over fine and will sometime crank and sometimes won't. I can hear the fuel pump. My 97 did the same thing and was the crank sensor. What do y'all think? It's a 1999 5.4.

 

That is what I would change first.

I have an idea of what it is but I'm in too much of a hurry to say

 

Sometimes will start and sometimes won't. Started it earlier then wouldn't start back.

 

If the starter turns over sufficiently to start but it won't run I would check the spark plugs knowing it is getting gas. If the starter only works some of the time test it and the relay and replace it. If U believe it to be a crank sensor test it.

 

Anyone know if you have to remove the AC compressor to remove the crank sensor on a 99 5.4 2wd?
