more than likily..although it might just b an o2 sensor. if it is the cats..cut them out and straight pipe it, you might still get the check eng light but it wont matter..or you might not, dont know about the newer models... but i would check the o2 sensor at the front of the cats, just pull it out and if its nasty, replace it, thatll be cheaper than the cats.
I'd try erasing the code first. If your truck doesn't pick up on any irregularities after three sucessive starts then the problem is erroneous and can be ignored. Otherwise you'll have to take it to the next step. Either way, though, if it has to do with your cat I don't think that the problem would be that severe.
i don't know if they are factory. the truck was strait piped right from the headers out when my dad bought it i think they are but i am not shur
i would like the light to stay out if i could
so the problem is one of my O2 sensor?

givin the info you gave me i would say so... try to erase the code first. thats the simplest thing first..usually the best.. if not the o2 sensor is a good place to start. after that u work your way down to the cats. anything else? allways willing to help!
