performance chip help!
I have a 2001 supercrew and Im looking to make it fast. But for now I just want to place a POWERFUL superchip. Like a good brand that's going to raise the hp. The things so slughish and slow it drives me crazy haha so lemme know what to get!

What motor? What size tires? What gear ratio? 4x4? The best tuner is gonna be sct with custom tunes.

A chip isn't going to make it fast, sorry to burst your bubble.

What are you trying to achieve here? You trying to hit a certain number at the track or the dyno? How deep are your pockets?
I believe I've seen your type before. High school kid and/or high school income. Wants big gains for no real reason but to be faster than the next guy. Doesn't have the money, time or knowledge to do actual performance mods. Wants an easy "make it a race truck" mod. May even pour a bottle of NOS energy drink into the fuel thinking it'll help roast the tires.
Unfortunately there is no such thing. At least not cheap or easy. You'd be looking at gear swap for acceleration and a built or charged engine for speed. But if you're looking for a chip that can do what those 2 suggestions will do, I'd venture to say that you won't do either one.
Remember, you're driving a 13+ year old 6000 pound truck. Unknown mileage to us. But is likely in need of some maintenance. It's not going to feel as peppy as a new vehicle.

Well first off remember is a truck with the aero dynamics of a brick. Unless you are taking it to a track and you have tires that are rated for what ever speed you are trying to achieve please dont try to go 100 plus mph down the road. It's seriously not safe at all. These trucks aren't meant to go as fast as or drive like a mustang. Ok now that we got that out of the way, yes a tune will make your truck 'quicker'. It will improve your throttle response and maybe your mpgs depending on how you drive. I have MPT custom tunes on my truck and yeah it does accelerate a little quicker and feels snappier but its nothing to crazy. Your not gonna be roasting your tires all the way through 3rd gear or anything. You have to remember its a 14 year old 2 valve engine, it's not like an ecoboost or anything. But, according to MPTs web site you should gain around 20 hp and torque with there all out performance tune. And if you do that you will HAVE to run premium gas.

Alright guys, everyone knows that a tuner will not make the truck into a race car, but it does improve acceleration and shift points, which can make the truck more fun to drive.
Do a search about tuners, there are plenty out there.
