By pass a/c
So what's the bit about bypassing the AC? If your power steering shaft is breaking your subjecting it to loads it's not intended to be subjected to....... Hence something is very wrong with what you are doing
I eliminated the a/c compressor couple years ago and routed the belt way it showed on the sticker under hood and it was fine till other day shaft on power steering snapped I replaced it drove for 3 days and new one snapped did nothing different
Well something's not right. Did you install some kind of aftermarket bypass pulley kit? There were post here in the past of people wanting to do that..... I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't just fix their AC system ... Or even just run with the AC clutch pulley and the rest of the AC system non-functional...but to each their own.

Well I looked at the power steering unit where the shaft is supposed be and notice a wear spot on one side so yes I'm gonna replace the belt cus that's a sign of a small belt and also a new high pressure line and I also pick up a a/c compressor and after 3 years finally gonna have a/c in AZ thank you again and I'll post update
