Default part identification help, please

2001 Supercrew 5.4L

Between 2nd and 3rd spark plugs on driver's side, there is a tube/hose that goes into the engine block. Inside the tube is a coil/spring-like device, and the tube is connected to an electronic device outside the motor. What is this part? Thanks!!!

Thanks for the help, guys! Maybe IAC, but after looking at a picture of a replacement one, I'm thinking not. Here are a couple of pix. The spring actually extends down into the engine block, encased in the tube from the other picture. Sorry, but I know very little about vehicles and identifying parts, however I am good at replacing parts. Appreciate your help!

The coil pack is usually held in place but a screw, however the metal bracket had rusted/broken. The tube has a split in it, which makes me suspect the engine compression simply blew it out of the hole. Is there something more I should be looking for? Thanks!
